About Us

We are a church of GRACE.  We all have the opportunity to receive God’s amazing grace. It is his grace that gives us a fresh start in life and empowers us to live.

Our desire is to live the LIFE of God as he knows it, to take that life to those who are lost and hurting. We have a zeal and PASSION for the house of God and for his kingdom.

We love the GENERATIONS that are represented in the family of God and desire that all age groups can experience the power of his immense love.

We will leave a legacy of God’s GRACE, LIFE, and PASSION for GENERATIONS to come as we continue to LOVE PEOPLE TO LIFE and to display God’s goodness given for all humanity.

Our Pastors Tom and Joyce Villalobos are the founding pastors of Oak Valley Church.  They love life, love God and love his church.

Tom and Joyce have been married for 29 wonderful years. They have raised one daughter and three sons and have three beautiful granddaughters.  All of their children are involved and active in ministry at the church. They have enjoyed their children, volunteering as parents in school and sports activities, and in serving in ministry and doing life together as a family.

Tom attended Vanguard University, Rhema Bible Training Center and Bethel College. Joyce attended Westmont College and enjoyed ministry training in Youth With A Mission in Greece and Spain.

Joyce loves to travel and Tom loves to stay home! Although, they both have traveled and ministered in other countries at various times, their love and call is to serve as pastors at Oak Valley Church.

Our History

Oak Valley Church was born in the hearts of Pastors Tom and Joyce Villalobos with the vision and foresight of reaching the new communities planned for the areas of Yucaipa, Calimesa, Beaumont and Banning.

Pastors Gordon and Wanda Young sent them out of Church on the Hill in Redlands, with blessing to plant a new church and on Father’s Day in June of 1990, we celebrated the opening services of Oak Valley Church in the rented facilities of the Seventh Day Adventist Academy in Calimesa.

God miraculously opened the door for us to lease and renovate the former Bank of America facility in Calimesa, which had stood empty for many years. The second part of this miracle came in 1994, when God moved on the heart of the bank building property owner to “sell” the building to our church for only ONE DOLLAR. The former bank building was evidence of God’s hand upon the church. This generous gift enabled us to eventually sell this prime downtown parcel and use the resources to pay cash for nine acres of freeway frontage property in Calimesa.

In April of 2000, the church celebrated the opening of their new multi-purpose facility. After ten years of growth and blessing, multiple services allow for over 1,200 people to be ministered to weekly. In following the vision and purposes of God for our church, we have purchased a new campus located on the same frontage road approximately two miles west in Yucaipa city limits.

The new campus is six times the size of our current church building we are excited about what God has done!   The Administrative offices are operating at this new location. We will continue to hold all church services at our Calimesa site until we have completely remodeled our new campus.

God has strategically planted us in the communities of Yucaipa, Calimesa, Beaumont, Banning, Redlands and the surrounding areas of Highland and San Bernardino, to be a blessing to our city and to the new and thriving communities around us.  We desire to help people live successful and healthy lives and to experience life God’s way. Everything we do is purposed to make a difference in our world and to lead people to life through God’s love.
