We Believe

We believe that the Bible, the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired and authoritative Word of God.  It offers us God’s plan for humanity and for the church.  The Bible serves as a manual for living and is the authority for our faith and lifestyle.

We believe that there is only one God, creator of all things, who is infinitely perfect and eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus was true God and true man, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life and died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins.  We believe He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven and is now at the right hand of the Father God as our High Priest and Advocate.  We believe in His personal return to earth in power and glory.

We believe that all people were created in the image of God but fell into sin and are therefore far from God.  It is only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit that salvation and spiritual life can be obtained.  We believe that the only way eternal life is received is by faith alone in Jesus Christ, that the shed blood of Jesus and His resurrection provide the grounds for justification and salvation.

We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify Jesus Christ.  During this age He indwells, guides, instructs and empowers those who believe for Godly living and service.  Every believer should be continually filled with the Holy Spirit thus being empowered to be witness to the truth of the Gospel.  (We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the evidence of speaking in other tongues.)

We believe that healing of the body is part of the blessings that God and that God has provided many different ways through which healing can be received.  We are to have compassion for the sick and trust with them that God’s healing presence will touch their lives.

We believe that there is one true Church, universal, comprised of all those who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.  We believe that the local church is the God-established house of worship, prayer, teaching of the word of God, a place for relationships, service and reaching out to our community.  The local church, under the care of elders and leaders, must work in love and unity to fulfill its mission and glorify Christ.
