Capture the Love

There are so many creative and talented IG’rs (InstaGrammers) out there and I am awed at the beauty captured in a two inch square photo. I view these stunning photos on my little iphone and I know it is but a glimpse of the real beauty and but a small representation of image captured.  Some of the captions on these photos have been, “This doesn’t come close to portraying the true beauty.”  

This reminds me of us, humanity, trying to capture God’s unfailing and everlasting love in a small confined box. Our glimpse and understanding of his love is so limited – it is like the tiny picture on the phone trying to portray the beauty of magnificent mountains and valleys, waterfalls and rivers, or sunrises and sunsets.
We can be so hard on ourselves and often subconsciously feel as though we must earn or perform for God’s love. Like his love is conditional and we set the limits.  If we could but grasp and understand how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love for us really is it would change our life completely.   
My prayer is from Ephesians 3:17 – 20.  I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love. And may you have the power to understand the exceeding greatness of his love. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it. Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.  
So, today, my verbal IG (Instagram) is to capture but a glimpse of God’s extravagant love for you!

Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn't love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that.
