Get Out the Knife

There's more to overcoming sin's hold in our lives than removing guilt and shame. While I love the "clean" feeling I get when sin is broken and overcome in my life, there's so much more than feeling "clean" that we are to experience.

In Genesis 17:11 God says to Abraham that if we would deal with the flesh, it would be a sign to him that he could handle his promise. Verse fourteen says that if you don't deal with your flesh you'll be cut off from God's promise over your life.
Imagine this. The realms of God's greatest fruitfulness, His fulfillment of the individual purposes for our lives, hinge on His "dealing with the flesh".

We can all have a measure of success, after all Abraham did have a son... Ishmael. It wasn't until he got circumcised (flesh removal) that the miracle of Isaac's birth happened.

What do you hold in the womb of your heart that's waiting to be birthed?

Get Out the Knife.

Hi Tom, Let's have lunch. I'll drive to you. I just returned from El Salvador, Guatemala & Hinduras. The next trip is scheduled to check on some orphanges in Indonesia and Northern Thailand. I could use some wisdom and time with a friend. (949) 441-9040
